Bowler ID is how you
are identified in our database
First and Last
name: is just that
Rank: is the numerical position of your individual average in the list of
participating bowlers. If you are Ranked number 1, that means you had the
highest average.
3 Gm Pincount: is the
total of the three games you rolled
Entering 3 gm
Avg: is 3 times your single game average. If your average
is 150, then this number would be 450. The first time you participate in a
POTBOWLING event, you will enter your average and it will not have any
decimals. After your first event, we will take your entering average, multiply
it by 3 to give us your three games series average, then we multiply that by six
and add what you rolled in the event. We then divide by 7. That will generally
create a new average with many decimals. There is a good reason why we do this. We chose to use 6 decimals so that we are
more accurate in our sorts when we determine teams and winners. The odds will be reduced that there will be
ties. With hundreds of thousands of participants we will be able to eliminate
the chance of having hundreds of winners all tied for first place or any other
place. You will have an opportunity to judge our averaging system when the
rules are ratified.
Bowlers Score: The
Entering 3 Gm Avg is subtracted from the 3 Gm Pincount . This is one of the unique features of the tournament. Pincount over average. Think about that. We do not use the standard handicap. This event is about how well you bowl
against yourself. This rule is applied across ALL skill levels and
combined for a team score. That is what
equalizes every team. No ONE PERSON can affect the outcome of any given team. All
of the team members must bowl better than they usually do for the team to win.
Total Team
Scr: The sum of each team
members Bowlers Score. This is the score we use to
determine who are the winning teams! We display this number for each team member so that if you
are just looking for information about yourself, you will see how well your
team scored.
House, City
and St: Just that. We can use this information to
check to see if more than a normal amount of winners are bowling in a
particular house, we can provide proprietors with information about
participation in our event, we can offer inducements and incentives to
proprietors who’s members are participating in large numbers. Lots of things we
can do with this information.
