The Internet has made it possible for League Bowlers all over the world to come together in one place, throw a few bucks in the pot and roll in your regular league for Cash or just for Fun!. By having one central place to conduct this tournament we are enabling bowlers to compete in Pot Bowling for prizes that could total in the millions of dollars each and every day! We’ve created a way to do this so bowlers of ALL skill levels can compete on a level playing field! We use the principle of SCORE OVER AVERAGE and WE MAKE THE TEAMS! This represents a change in thinking from the traditional way of conducting tournaments, but it enables us to offer bowlers from ALL OVER THE WORLD a way to compete in a tournament that is FAIR and VERIFIABLE!

The POT BOWLING.COM site is going to be running test's of the concept for a few months FOR FREE! We are not concerned with what the site looks like right now, that will come later. We ARE concerned that everything works like we envisioned it and that's where YOU come in. But first, we want to make sure you understand that this is NOT a GAMBLING WEBSITE! Please refer to this legal opinion from the State Attorney General from the State of South Carolina when posed a question in regard to a similiar format in the sport of golf:

Legal opinion from State Attorney General of South Carolina

We think this answers those who are well meaning and protective, but misguided in their assertion that this is an illegal endevour. In fact, if this is gambling, then every other Bowling Tournament with cash prizes is Illegal. That being said, we wish to emphasize that we support YABA in every way and will NOT ACCEPT any league scores from YABA sanctioned Leagues in any event with cash payouts.

The site is READY TO ACCEPT registration, setting up leagues, posting your averages from your leagues, signing up for events and posting scores. Give it a try, its FREE!

You do not need to provide us with any REAL information. We run each tournament daily and you will see our test bowler data identified with Bowler Identifications that start with ‘ZZZ’. You may enter real or fake information during the test phase or even after the tests are concluded (in the FREE PLAY, No Prizes awarded events)! You can use fake names and addresses, but please put something in all of the fields for us to test. If you want to see how you would do using your real bowling scores, then when you get to the part where you tell us what leagues you are in during initial registration, you can use your real league name and the average you carry on that league. Then you can post your real scores you rolled and see how you might do in the real thing. You will have a Bowler ID to find how you did in the events. You can see Yesterdays tournament results here: see tournament results

We have created some initial rules. These are found on the rules page. This is your tournament, however, and the rules will be ratified when we have signed up 10,000 bowlers. A member bowler will be eligible to vote if they have bowled in 100 events. (free or pay) There are many variations to tournaments that we can add, but we think this concept is so unique and exciting, we wanted to start with it. Later on we can add Singles events, Events where you submit your own league, Tournaments treated as if they were a league so the results could be posted here. Events within time zones, Regions, Countries. Real tournaments where we bring winners together from these events to bowl together in resort locations (hint Vegas, DisneyWorld….) the list is endless. So now what?

Here’s the steps you’ll need to follow to get started:

1.      Register! – you can use real or fake information on the registration form

1.1.   After you submit the information, you will give yourself a Bowler ID (BID) and a Password.

1.2.   You will then enter at least one League

1.2.1.       To do that, we will ask you for the state your league is in

1.2.2.       We will look up our database of bowling centers and then display every city in the state with bowling centers

1.2.3.       Choose the city your bowling center is in. We will display all the bowling centers for that city.

1.2.4.      Choose your bowling Center. We will display a list of all the leagues in that bowling center.

1.2.4.1. If the league exists, just enter your league average (that’s a single game average, like 180, or 110, or 235, NOT your 3 game average, though we do calculate what that number is later on)

1.2.4.2.If  you do not see that someone else has already entered your league, you can create it.

1.2.4.2.1.      enter information about your league (fake or real) but fill out all the fields.

1.2.4.2.2.      After you enter the league information, you will be returned to the Bowling center and the new league will be in the dropdown. Select it and the enter your league average.

1.3.   If you bowl on more than one league, you will return and start the process again.

NOTE: The Day of the week of the league should correspond to the REAL day you bowl. You can only bowl in a POT BOWLING event that corresponds to the day of the week your league meets!!

1.4.   When your registration is complete, you will have 500 points in your account to use to compete in the events. Each event costs 5 points to play, so you have enough for 100 events. If you run out, we will give you another 500. Each day there will be three events. That’s it for registration and you only have to do this ONCE or if you change your personal information or update the league information. After testing is complete, we will wipe out all the test data and you will need to re-register at that time, however.

2.      Sign up for POT BOWLING events!

2.1.   To start we offer three event categories in one division.  The division is the United States.  There will be three payout events. Winner take all, One winner per 10 bowlers, and One winner per 20 bowlers. We can add events with higher payouts, but there will be fewer winners. Those will come later. We can add events that pay real cash, but that will come when enough of you are interested.

2.2.   You must sign up for the event PRIOR TO MIDNIGHT Eastern Standard Time, THE DAY OF THE EVENT! This is to keep folks from only competing when they know what their scores are. This is a Tournament just like any other. You enter BEFORE you compete.

2.3.   You may only compete against other bowlers rolling on the same day as your league. So if you bowl on Wednesday, you must sign up by Midnight Tuesday night.  You will not be able to post your score for any other day’s event. Of course if you are on another league on another day, then you can compete on that day. If you are on two leagues on the same day, choose which one you wish to post your scores from when you sign up. You may only use that league score.

2.4.   Your account will have points deducted from your account depending on how many events you sign up for.

3.      Post your Scores! Roll the best game that you can and post your score prior to Noon on the following day Eastern Standard Time. If you bowl on Wednesday, post your score before Noon, Thursday Eastern Standard Time. This allows our West coast late night bowlers some time to post their scores.

4.      The tournament is run! At 10 minutes after Noon Eastern Standard Time, each and every day, we will conduct the POT BOWLING Tournaments. All Scores should be available by 20 minutes after Noon.

5.      View the results! You can see the winners from the 'Winners Circle' page. If you do not see your name, go to the Members Only page and log in. There is lots of information there. Click on the 'view reports' button and get information about what teams you were on, what winning teams you may have been on, Your league information, the events your signed up for. You will be able to update your profile, change your password, get more points (or request a check for your winnings when we go to cash payouts) and lots, lots more.
